Value your time and don't let others tell you what Value your time and don't let others tell you what to do with it.

If you want to have a day of relaxing - do it.

This is such an important reminder. Sharing words This is such an important reminder.

Sharing words and artwork from @harmonywillowstudio: Ok- so I try to keep my Instagram as positive and uplifting as possible because the world and life can very very cruel. But recently I heard the phrase- TOXIC POSITIVITY. Maybe I’m the last one to hear this but it hit me hard. Yes- it’s good to be positive and I want to spread happiness and kindness and beauty but also I can’t be fake. Some minutes, hours, days and weeks are hard. I cry, I have no idea what I am doing with my life, I overthink and I compare myself to other people all the time. Tonight was a night when I had to take a moment and let it all out and recognize that it’s ok to not be ok. It’s ok to be all in your feelings. It’s ok to have bad days. They are part of life’s puzzle. Sometimes I personally get caught up in the feeling that I need to always be looking for the silver lining in everything- when in reality- sometimes things are just shit. And that’s ok. Good night y’all ♥️

Alice Wong (@alicatsamurai) doesn’t want to take Alice Wong (@alicatsamurai) doesn’t want to take up a whole lot of space. Instead, she wants to create it. And for the better part of the last decade, she has.

“I’m very mindful of making sure that I don’t take up that much space — that it’s not just about me, me, me,” the 47-year-old disability activist told HuffPost. “I really want to ensure that other people have the spotlight and amplify the work of other people. That’s what gives me joy.”

Wong, who is based in San Francisco, is perhaps best known for launching the Disability Visibility Project, an online community that amplifies disability media and culture. It began as a partnership with StoryCorps that gives disabled people the opportunity to record their own oral histories. The project is now going on its seventh year.

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. She is a co-partner with #CripTheVote, a nonpartisan online movement that engages disabled people in politics and policymaking. During the 2020 presidential election, she co-organized and moderated Twitter town halls with Democratic candidates Pete Buttigieg and Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

A daughter of Hong Kong immigrants, Wong was born and raised in Indianapolis. Growing up with a neuromuscular disability and two younger sisters, Wong said she didn’t have a choice but to be an advocate for herself and her family.

"My anxiety makes me question, ruminate, second guess, worry, rinse and repeat. the what-ifs are suffocating sometimes. lately, I’ve been working on switching the tone of my what-ifs from being negative to positive. after some practice, I actually feel a bit more excited about possibilities rather than afraid of them !! it’s a good start, hopefully, I’ll manifest some positive things from focusing on positive thoughts. you should give this a try ! 💓" - @crazyheadcomics

We absolutely love these supportive words from @ea We absolutely love these supportive words from @eatthecaketoo:

If you think stretch marks on tummies are reserved for mamas, that is just plain silly.
.
I’ve had stretch marks on my stomach for as long as I can remember so I really never gave them much thought.
.
In the summer, when my belly gets a little tan, my stretch marks look like white lightening and it makes me happy 😊
.
I think stretch marks are beautiful. They are like a roadmap on our bodies unique only to us. Part of what make us each a priceless masterpiece 🤍
.
Embrace your Tiger stripes 🙌🏼 and don’t let anyone tell you that they aren’t normal or beautiful.

"The pain of rejection is real! Rejection, feeling "The pain of rejection is real! Rejection, feeling judged and criticised can send us into a tailspin of thoughts ranging from ‘Am I enough?’ across to ‘Do I sound stupid?’ In ‘Does rejection hurt? An fMRI study of social exclusion’, a neuroimaging study led by Matthew Lieberman at UCLA, examined the neural correlates of social exclusion, and tested the hypothesis that the brain bases of social pain are like those of physical pain. “While everyone accepts that physical pain is real, people are tempted to think that social pain is just in their heads," said Matthew Lieberman. "But physical and social pain may be more similar than we realized." Being told to ‘toughen up’ won’t always cut it, so here is a reading list to help you along the way when it comes coping better and caring less." - THE TRIBE™️ Empowerment Journal.

I don't see a lot of local businesses here advertising the native communities at all and I want to make a change not just for myself but my people. When I was three it was my biggest dream on becoming a model, growing up I never thought I was pretty enough and the beauty standards made me feel like my indigenouse features weren't beautiful. But as I continue to grow, I’ve learned confidence in learning to love and accept myself.
